A very successful BRIGALOW BIRDS WEEK

26 August –1 September 2010

 

 

26 August:

10 am:  Launch of our book ‘Brigalow Birds’ at the Western Downs Regional Council Chambers successful conducted.

This event proved to be a fitting celebration for greatly appreciated funding support from the Regional Arts Development Fund and Gambling Community Benefit Fund.

 27 August:

Bird walk: 8:30am Camp Station Reserve, north of Meandarra. 44 species counted including Brown and Stubble Quails, Mistletoe birds, Painted Button-quail, woodswallows and many more.

 28/29 August:

Spring Open Day at Myall Park Botanic Garden, Glenmorgan.  www.myallparkbotanicgarden.org.au Bird count 56 including Sittellas, Spotted Bowerbird, numerous honeyeater species, fraiy-wrens and many more.

 30 August:

Private property bird walk – bird count 39 

 31 August:

Second private property bird walk - bird count 36
